This Coconut Matcha Cloud is the perfect refreshing drink to make this spring and summer! It looks fancy but it only requires 4 ingredients and is very quick to whip up.
This is also the matcha drink I recommend to people who have never had matcha before. The coconut water has a natural sweetness that perfectly compliments the earthiness of the matcha.
Yield: 2 servings
INGREDIENTS:
- 8g Matcha
- 2tbsp Milk
- Tiny splash of Maple Syrup (OPTIONAL sweetener)
- 3tbsp Double Cream
- Ice
- Coconut Water

STEPS:
- Sift matcha powder into a small mixing bowl
- Add milk and whisk until smooth
- Add the optional sweetener if needed. Keep in mind that coconut water is sweet so try it without sweetener first and add it later if needed
- Add cream and whisk until it forms soft peaks. Using an electronic mixer of hand frother to speed up the process. The mixture should become fluffy, doubled in size, be able to hold soft peaks, but still be runny when being poured
- Grab your 2 glasses, add ice and coconut water to 3/4 of the way up. For me this was about 180ml of coconut water per glass.
- Top up with the matcha cream. Stir and enjoy!
Want to batch prep the matcha cloud?
If you are planning on making a bigger batch, I usually go for double this recipe which will give you 4 servings. Any unused matcha cream can be stored in an airtight container for a few days. I would not recommend keeping it for too long as matcha is best fresh and the cream will deflate. But 1 or 2 days in the fridge won’t hurt 😉
