Miso & Sesame Butter Bean Hummus

Wanna level up your hummus game? Give this butter bean hummus a try! We are using a combination of miso and sesame for a wonderful combination of umami and nuttiness.

Butter beans are so good for the human body! They are high in antioxidants, a good source of protein, and contain lots of vitamins and minerals your body needs!

It’s a great dip you can meal prep and pair with any meal or snack during the week! One of my favorite ways to eat this is on my Sourdough Open Toast: Topped With Butterbean Hummus & Scallion Eggs!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 can of Butter Beans
  • 20g Miso Paste
  • 1 Large Clove of Garlic
  • 1 generous tbsp of Tahini
  • 2tbsp Sesame Oil
  • The Juice from 1/4 of a Lemon
  • Water
  • Pinch of Salt (to taste)
  • Ice Cubes

STEPS:

  1. Drain and rinse the butter beans
  2. In a blender or food processor, add the butter beans, miso, garlic, tahini, sesame oil, and lemon juice
  3. Blend it as best as you can, it may be a little thick. Gradually add water and blend until it reaches a dip consistency
  4. Taste it and add salt if needed. Add more miso, tahini, or sesame oil to adjust the flavors to your liking
  5. Add a few ice cubes and blend until it’s fully blended in. This will help make the dip extra smooth

TIPS:

  • The Ice: Use this method in any dip you are making! Blending the final product with a few ice cubes will help make the dip extra smooth
  • Storage: Leave in an airtight container in the fridge
